To strengthen our company portfolio, our M&A team is looking for a highly motivated professional to accelerate our business in Brazil further.

As an M&A Business Developer, you will identify M&A prospects in Brazil. You will search for and contact valuable M&A prospects who have built an attractive business to increase the M&A pipeline for the long term. You will have the opportunity to converse with experienced entrepreneurs of M&A target companies. You will deepen your knowledge of the local culture, and you will be based in Brazil and regularly travel to the Netherlands.

As an M&A Business Developer, you contribute to the pre-acquisition business activities in order to grow our company portfolio in Brazil. You will represent the first contact in the M&A acquisition process: You find and reach out to companies in the software sector.

Activities will include initiating contact (via email, phone, video calling, or otherwise) with potential M&A targets and supporting M&A target account management to ensure TSS stays top of mind and keeps the market sufficiently covered. Together with your BD and M&A team members and manager, you map and analyze the vertical market software markets in your target country.

You will build relationships with prospects in close cooperation with the Portfolio Manager (the executive who will be responsible for the target company after acquisition). You are also part of a broader international M&A team.

Our ideal candidate is representative, has excellent Brazilian Portuguese and English communication skills, a fair degree of financial literacy, and strong analytical skills. You feel comfortable conversing with experienced entrepreneurs of target companies. You are entrepreneurial and proactive in your mindset yet also methodological in your approach.

The job

  • Identifying vertical market software (VMS) businesses that meet our acquisition criteria will help us grow our M&A prospect database in Brazil.

  • Initiate outbound prospecting (phone and video) calls, email, and social media communication to identify and connect with new M&A target companies.

  • Visit trade shows and industry events in order to initiate contacts with prospective targets.

  • Use Marketing and CRM data to build relationships with key stakeholders and maintain them.

  • Follow up on outbound and inbound M&A prospect activities in a timely manner.

  • Conduct first-line interactions with companies (primarily by telephone and face-to-face) in order to qualify potential targets.

  • Document meetings/ interactions in the form of notes and interactions and administer efforts in Salesforce (our CRM system).


Qualifications

  • Independent & proactive worker who can also work in a team.

  • Commercial skills and sales affinity, ability to establish contact with senior executives at target companies who are unfamiliar with our company.

  • Interest in and preferably knowledge of Finance and IT.

  • Ability to work on targets.

  • Able to write professional Brazilian Portuguese and English e-mails and has good telephone/video call skills.

  • Eagerness to learn.

  • Experienced in (online) research.


Requirements

  • A bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably (not mandatory) in Business Administration, Economics/Accounting, Sales, Commercial Sciences, or Marketing Management.

  • 3+ years’ experience in business development or sales roles.

  • Willingness to travel within Brazil and to the Netherlands on a regular basis.

  • Ability to understand financial concepts.

  • Fluent in (Business) Portuguese and English
